About the Job
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Working directly with Shop manager, vendors, and maintenance team to solve current equipment and facilities issues.
• Oversee routine and emergency repairs with UAW mechanics.
• Maintaining day-to-day operations of Preventative maintenance and repairs in the shop.
• Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety, and other equipment or parts related issues.
• Preparing and implementing equipment repair strategies for changing weather conditions, other pre-determined events, or plant related changes.
• Collaborating with upper management on budgeting of maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Oversee all installations, campaigns, and refurbishments of equipment.
• Maintain production standards for skilled trades labor force.
• Manage UAW Skilled trades labor force.
• Manage parts flow to the mechanics.
• Collaborating with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs.
• Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills to prioritize and coordinate the efforts of the team.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience in an automotive or heavy equipment repair environment.
• Experience with installations and refurbishments of equipment.
• Previous experience with union employees.
• Ability to work with experts from many disciplines and organizations to develop and implement benchmark processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree
