SUMMARY

To serve the vision of Rock City Church by providing creative support to the Central Youth Team – helping to execute the youth vision through video (short and long-form), digital, graphic design and social media content. In addition, this role will provide campus leadership to the Youth team at the Rock City Short North Campus ensuring the campus strategy for youth is executed at the campus level.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Provide oversight, leadership, and direction to the location Rock City Youth ministry
  
• Engage youth sixth through twelfth grade in the Rock City youth experience
  
• Recruit new volunteers by partnering with Rock City Central Youth Director and Campus Pastors
  
• Build relationships with parents and families at location
  
• Prepare campus for youth night/prepare and execute youth night pre-party (if applicable)
• Oversee the onboarding process for new volunteers, including follow up of profile, background check and training (sexual abuse awareness training)
  
• Oversee all difficult conversations with students, families, and leaders at the location
  
• Film and edit engaging video and photo content for Rock City Youth social media platforms
  
• Oversee capture of video and photo footage during events and creative shoots
  
• Exhibit a high level of skill in graphic design and digital content creation
  
• Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with creative and the youth teams
  
• Obtain input from leader, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and Rock City brand expectations, expressing ideas accurately
  
• Manage the design and uploading process of all project material, understanding best practices for using a content management system
  
• Work on a wide range of projects and media to visualize and develop innovative designs
  
• Refine projects and drafts
  
• Generate creative concepts
  
• Support church wide events (Youth Night, Summer Camp/Retreat, Christmas, Easter)
  
• Oversee large scale projects from conception to production
• Stay current with industry trends, social media platforms, video, and photo techniques
  
• Work quickly on projects with short lead times
  
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• 2+ years' experience with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (required)
  
• 2+ years' experience in video and photo capture and editing (required)
  
• 3+ years of hands-on student ministry experience (preferred)
  
• Systematic team building and leadership development
  
• Must be energetic and able to stand or sit for lengths of time as needed
  
• Bachelor's degree in a creative discipline (preferred)
  
• A strong portfolio of work across various creative disciplines
  
• Proven ability to lead teams
  
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  
• Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
  
• Self-starter and can champion new initiatives
  
• Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
