Salary:
- $56/hr. to $58/hr.
- $1,960 - $2,030/week based on 35 hours.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Certificate of completion of an interpreter training program or Illinois Type 10 Certificate in DHH
- EIPA/3.0 or higher
- Ability to interpret/transliterate in classes for assigned hearing impaired students
- Working knowledge of the Code of Ethics of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
Job Description:
- Details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location - Recruitment Specialists can discuss in detail upon application to connect you to the classroom and best suits your experience and skillset
- Contract through the 2024/2025 school year – 30 to 35 hours per week
- Contract follows the academic district calendar
Essential Functions:
- To provide interpreting and transliterating services for hearing impaired students
- Provide interpreting and transliterating services for assigned hearing impaired student
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administration instructions and regulations, Board policy and state regulations
- Assist in the evaluation, in conjunction with the student’s case manager, for the appropriate method of interpreting for hearing impaired students in mainstream classes
- Assist in normal classroom routines and procedures by clarifying concepts, reviewing lessons assigned and actively guiding students in the completion of required work
- Coordinate tutoring or follow-up sessions with students for additional instruction
- Interpret at special activities (i.e. captioned films, assemblies, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
