PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled POSITION to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in LOCATION. This is an initial TIME contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.
Job Description:
An Aerospace leader is seeking an experienced engineer to develop signal and image processing algorithms for one of our missile product lines. The image and signal algorithm development areas include resolved and unresolved image processing, low signature target detection, automatic target recognition and identification, image correction algorithms, scene generation, hyperspectral image processing techniques and non-uniformity correction.
In addition to algorithm development, this engineer may be responsible for the development of complex models and simulations, evaluation of system performance in complex scenarios and environments, and the verification of system and subsystem level requirements. They should be comfortable developing and presenting technical material to internal leadership and external customers. They must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable multi-tasking across a number of programmatic and technical responsibilities. The candidate should be capable of working in a collegial team environment among subject matter experts coming from a variety of academic backgrounds. They should also desire to work towards becoming a technical subject matter expert in algorithm development.
Requirements:
- Degree(s) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar
- 5-8 Years of experience with developing and analyzing algorithms related to signal/image processing
- 5-8 Years of experience with in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Matlab, Python
- US Citizenship
Desired:
- Experience with linear algebra software packages
- Strong programming skills that can translate to C++ development in a Linux environment
- Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements
- Experience deploying complex algorithms in embedded systems
- Experience developing algorithms using artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI/Client) techniques
- Knowledge of electro-optical/infrared detection (EOIR) technology, optics, and principles of radiometry
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and analyzing algorithms related to navigation and inertial tracking
- Professional experience and demonstrated proficiency in math as it relates to Kalman filtering, optimal state estimation, linear algebra, probability and statistics, and multivariate calculus
- Familiarity with clutter rejection techniques
- Knowledge and experience with modeling and simulation of EOIR systems.
