About Halloween on the Hill & Winterlights:
Over the past three years, Halloween on the Hill has become an extremely popular family friendly event bringing significant awareness and visitation to Long Hill. Over 1,500 carved pumpkins are displayed creatively in throughout the trail and the large-scale sets are an audience draw. A similar event takes place at Naumkeag in Stockbridge.
Winterlights is an outdoor light event that highlights the beauty of select Trustees properties. The gardens at three of our most popular historic homes, Naumkeag in Stockbridge, The Bradley Estate in Canton, and Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover will sparkle with thousands of shimmering holiday lights.
The Signature Events Assistant reports to the Property Director and North Shore Senior Regional Engagement Manager, to deliver excellent standards of visitor service at both Long Hill and Stevens-Coolidge in Beverly and North Andover, MA. This includes check-in, retail and concessions sales, parking, and event setup and breakdown for Halloween on the Hill and Winterlights. The Signature Events Assistant also supports stewardship projects and provides support for this specific event as assigned. The position will begin as early as September 3 and continues as late as January 17. This employment window is subject to change depending on site staffing needs. Halloween on the Hill, at Long Hill in Beverly, MA is open to the public, Wednesday – Sunday, 5:30 – 8:30 PM each day and Winterlights, at Stevens-Coolidge House and Gardens, is open to the public Wednesday-Sunday from 4:30-8:30 PM. Setup shifts are flexible and available Monday – Saturday while the event shifts run 4:00-9:30 PM.
- Support the Long Hill and Stevens-Coolidge teams with set up to produce a successful event, this includes but is not limited to hanging lights, setting up displays, stocking supplies, preparing the property for public visitation, etc.
- Support day of event visitor experience, safety, and services through monitoring, admission, check in, parking, retail and concessions support, and ensuring proper wayfinding, clean and functioning facilities.
- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Salary: $16/hour

Requirements
- Excellent “people skills” to lead, inspire, motivate, and work cooperatively and harmoniously with fellow employees, volunteers, committees, members, and the public.
- Retail or Customer service experience a plus.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
- Proven ability to complete assigned tasks and projects, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong commitment to the mission of The Trustees of Reservations.
- Ability to work nights and weekends is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience
- Minimum level of education is a High School Diploma or GED. Preferred level is a Bachelor's Degree
Specific physical requirements and/or environmental exposures are part of the job, as follows:
- The ability to work in all weather conditions
- Lift up to 30 pounds
- Willing to climb ladders to hang lights
- Stand for hours at a time
