About the Job
The Simulation Specialist designs and coordinates the implementation of simulation systems to meet educational needs throughout the system. Assumes responsibility for the design, maintenance and repair of computerized manikins, task trainers and related multimedia peripherals. Analyzes and resolves user problems and prepares documentation and information for non-technical users. Assists and advises management in areas such as procurement of hardware, software and audio/visual equipment including; cost, installation and use, software modification, and user education, training and orientation.

- 1. Designs and coordinates the implementation of simulation systems to meet educational needs throughout the system.
- 2. Assumes responsibility for the design, maintenance and repair of computerized manikins, task trainers and related multimedia peripherals
- 3. Serve as simulator operator by programming, testing and running scenarios with instructors and facilitators.
- 4. Analyzes and resolves user problems and prepares documentation and information for non-technical users.
- 5. Assists and advises management in areas such as procurement of hardware, software and audio/visual equipment including; cost, installation and use, software modification, and user education, training and orientation.
- 6. Trains faculty, facilitator and other Simulation Center staff in the operational aspects of simulation.
- 7. Interface and develop relationships with the equipment vendors regarding troubleshooting and systems problems; maintains record of repairs and preventative maintenance.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
At least, 3 years of customer related experience in a technology related field, 5-7 years preferred. Demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies, and systems. Simulation experience preferred, but not required.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Flexible, self-motivated and self-directed, team player with good problem solving skills. Willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies. Knowledge of patient simulation education, technologies, and application. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to simulator functions. Knowledge of audio/visual production and editing preferred. Proficiency in Windows operating systems, wired and wireless networks, database creation and use.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Work requires regular heavy physical lifting of equipment up to 125 pounds.
