Job Summary

Nurse Educator

The Nurse Educator is a professional nurse who provides consultation to nursing personnel and conducts and coordinates educational experiences. The responsibilities encompass assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical skills development, in-services and continuing education programs at the Unit and/or Department level.

The diabetes educator will see patients individually for a 1:1 diabetes education appointment and also be cross-trained to work with providers during clinic appointments. Understanding how to make preauthorizations for diabetes supplies is a plus along with knowledge of diabetes testing - meters and sensors and insulin delivery and oral diabetes medications. Background in diabetes education is a plus. Spanish speaking is a plus.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN Required, Master’s degree in Nursing or other allied professional discipline preferred.
• 1-3 years’ experience teaching as a Nursing Educator or teaching in a professional capacity in an allied field.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid IL license
• BLS / ACLS certification
