About the Job
Plan, execute, and finalize new build or retrofit projects according to scheduled deadlines and within budget while meeting or exceeding projected business benefits. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan. The Site Manager, Construction will work with operations, engineering and project sponsors to define the project's scope/objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle. The Site Manager, Construction, will work with suppliers through selection, negotiation, design and implementation; he/she will focus on new or retrofit construction, refrigeration, racking and automation interface, if needed.
What You'll Do:
- Develops and executes project work plans and transition plans; revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Ability to develop a budget tracker, maintain actual spend and forecast remaining costs - Fully responsible for assigned projects, including both driving progress and ensuring deadlines and budget are met and keeping management informed of progress.
- Manages the capital budget and strives to find opportunities to reduce spend; support field FSM's and GM's determine best use of company dollars
- Manage change control so that as potential scope changes arise, they are each carefully analyzed, reviewed, and appropriately approved; develop solution options as needed to drive decisions
- Manages vendor relationships and scope; supports scorecarding and selection of suppliers around construction and refrigeration projects
- Partner with operations and business development to fully understand impact of customer requirements or requests and the effect they would have on overall project timeline and budget
- Manages project review meetings with team members to ensure work progresses as planned and as issues are identified, action plans are put in place to address in an appropriate time frame and escalate as appropriate.
What Experience and Education Do You Need:
- Preferred Bachelor's or 2-year degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field or engineering discipline
- 3-5 years of demonstrated Project Management experience; facility construction experience and/or refrigeration a plus
- 3-5 years of demonstrated maintenance experience running a facility services department and/or protecting company assets
- Warehouse operations management experience a plus
- Successful track record managing multiple high priority capital investment and customer implementations, using project/program management methods and tools
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications to include Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint

- Must be able to travel at an estimated 50-75% of the time to support projects
- Extended travel including weekends may be required during critical times such as facility launches

Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
- Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
- Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
- Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
- May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business
- May require visits to facility operation in temperatures at or below freezing
- May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
- Requires the use of various electronic tools
- Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
- Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
