JOB OVERVIEW
Yukon Management, LLC (YML) is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The SSHO will structure and lead safety and health activities for the contract and will evaluate and control safety and environmental hazards. This position will also provide safety oversight to the project team.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log that includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, and estimated and actual dates of corrections.
- Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports.
- Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
- Attend the pre-construction, pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.
- Trains, lectures, and educates employees on safe and efficient work methods to obtain compliance of regulations.
- Recommends changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness.
- Ensure safety regulations are being observed and all methods are adequate, up to date, adhered to, and effective.
- Conduct daily project/safety meetings as required.
- Conducts daily Job Hazard Awareness meetings, daily stretching, and weekly Toolbox topics.
- Acts as the leader at the project site for this function of safety.
- Provides timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment.

ABOUT YOU
- Experience with secure construction and ICD 705 specifications required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years' experience working in Health, Safety and Environment or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience within the last five (5) years in supervising and managing dredging, marine construction, and land-based constructions activities to include work managing safety programs and conducting hazard analyses.
- Strong familiarity and implementation of EM 385-1-1.
- CPR & First Aid preferred but not required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license; must qualify for company insurance coverage based on driving record.
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Skype for Business, and a web collaboration tool such as SharePoint.
- SCA/DBA/Union/Government contracting experience preferred.
- Experience in Alaska Native Corporations preferred but not required.
