Site Supervisor/Sr. Electrician - Akima

About the Job
This position serves as the Site Supervisor/Sr. Electrician for AFO at the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
+ Supports the project Safety Plan through involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirement pertaining to particular trades or skills.
+ OSTI’s primary point of contact for maintenance matters.
+ Supervise and train AFO’s staff of maintenance and custodial personnel
+ Supervise and inspect work performed as part of quality control
+ Prepare weekly staff schedule to ensure preventive maintenance and routine daily tasks are completed on time and to contractual standards as well as ensure prompt, effective response to emergency and after-hours service calls
+ Prepare and submit contract deliverables and ad hoc reports as required
+ Participate in interviewing, selecting, and hiring maintenance and custodial staff
+ Subcontractor/vendor management to include assisting with writing SOWs, meeting with prospective bidders, obtaining quotes, and scheduling work
+ Performs the electrical duties necessary to maintain all buildings and structures in good repair.
+ Performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy.
+ Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations.
+ Performs other tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
+ Valid state driver’s license
+ Three years’ work experience in O&M services.
+ Verbal and written communication skills
+ Working knowledge (less than Journeyman) in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting
+ On-Call 24-7 response with the ability to respond to base emergency within 1- hour
Preferred Qualification:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Valid Electrical Journeyman’s Certification or comparable experience.
Work Conditions:
+ Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed
+ Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
+ Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclines, hand and soft-carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces
