Summary:
Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a qualified SM3 Missile Systems Engineer that will be responsible for SM-3 Block IIA Missile Communications support for RF missile communications components.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Primary duties include programmatic oversight of IIA missile communications components, development and integration within the SM-3 IIA Guidance Section (GS) and Kinetic Warhead (KW).
- Manage annual budget and financial controls for Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) and Other Government Agencies (OGAs).
- Provide program office support by participating in the planning, developing and coordinating of business and contracting strategies for the SM-3 Blk IIA Missile.
- Review inputs from a variety of sources such as acquisition, financial, budget, Statements of Work, progress schedules and technical reviews.
- Attend Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), contracts and business meetings, technical reviews and other meetings as directed then summarize results of meetings and synthesize operating statements to apprise the SM-3 Blk IIA Program Manager of the current status and health of the missile program.
- Further, the candidate will identify potential conflicts and program disconnects and make recommendations for mitigation and remediation.
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizenship with Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Prior experience with Aegis Weapons Systems.
- Experience working on DOD or missile defense programs.
- Fundamental knowledge of ship integration activities (shipboard terms, operations, schedules, configuration management tools, and directives).
- General understanding of fleet readiness and sustainment activities desired.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance.
- BS/BA in STEM discipline, engineering preferred or 10 years engineering experience in the field or technical equivalent.
- 10+ years of related experience Missile defense-related or other DoD programs/projects such as AEGIS. Military education can be considered in lieu of Bachelor's (with associate degree) and master's degree.
- Aegis Qualifications and Fleet operations experience should be noted.
- Experience in Combat Systems Maintenance Manager, System Test Officer Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) should also be noted.
- Prior experience as SM3 Block IIA Missile Defense Engineer.
- Technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, systems engineering, modeling and simulation, missile systems, Aegis Qualifications, etc.
Clearance: Secret Clearance is Required.
Location: Dahlgren, VA
Travel: Travel may be required.
