The Small Group Benefits Sales Executive must be knowledgeable about the sales and retention of group Health and Welfare plans. The ideal candidate will have experience managing all aspects of small group benefit accounts through all phases to include new business sales, carrier marketing, implementation, communication and enrollment. This position will require a thorough comprehension of ancillary products and a willingness to keep up-to-date with changes in the industry.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SMALL GROUP BENEFITS SALES EXECUTIVE:
- New business development and sales
- Client retention and benefits plan renewals
- Gathering necessary client plan information and quoting with carriers
- Process renewals, start to finish, including, if necessary, producing proposals for Clients
- Negotiate on behalf of the clients to achieve the goals of best benefits for best rates
- Coordinate your workflow with the Group Benefits Manager
- Direct implementation, enrollment, and communication processes
- Perform periodic service calls in accordance with Service Standards
- Resolve all client problems swiftly and courteously
- Update all accounts on Agency Management Systems, where applicable
- File and maintain all client information in a timely manner
- Maintain awareness of new developments and legislation in the Group Benefits field
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship and rapport with clients and carriers
- Coordinate outside marketing/advertising opportunities with carrier partners
- Handle all requests by our clients or have a referral available
- Stay current on our renewal/retention process as well as on other items such as legislative and compliance issues, HIPAA regulations, and COBRA/State Continuance coverage
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Current Florida 2-15 License
- College degree desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years industry experience
- Possess skills necessary to communicate with clients, carriers and prospects concerning Group Benefits lines of coverage
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred
- Ability to maintain and organize electronic files on the company document management system
- Working knowledge of Agency Management Systems, Zywave products, or willingness to learn
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
