About the Job
As a Snow Groomer Operator at Tenney Resort & Recreation LLC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional and safe winter sports experience. You will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the slopes and trails to the highest standards, creating optimal skiing and snowboarding conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Snow Grooming: Operate snow grooming equipment, including snowcats and snow groomers, to smooth and shape ski slopes and trails.
Terrain Maintenance: Monitor and assess the condition of slopes, ensuring they are safe and enjoyable for guests. Perform routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.
Snowmaking Support: Collaborate with the snowmaking team to distribute and evenly distribute snow across the slopes, optimizing coverage and quality.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all grooming activities adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including marking hazards and reporting any incidents or issues.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine equipment checks, maintenance, and minor repairs. Report any major equipment issues.
Communication: Maintain open communication with fellow groomer operators, ski patrol, and other resort staff to coordinate slope maintenance activities.
Environmental Awareness: Maintain awareness of environmental regulations and guidelines, taking measures to minimize environmental impact during grooming operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating snow grooming equipment is highly desirable.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in cold, outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to respond to emergencies effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
