As the Social Media / Marketing Intern, you will be part of our dynamic team, helping to build our brand presence and engage with our audience through various digital channels. This opportunity is a part-time internship, based at our Downtown Akron, Ohio office and will report to our Marketing & Community Outreach Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating, scheduling, and publishing content on social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, TikTok).
- Collaborate with our Marketing partners to develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement and followers.
- Monitor, track and report (when applicable) comments and messages across social media platforms.
- Conduct research on industry trends and audience preferences to inform content creation.
- Assist in developing marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
- Support the team with writing blog posts, newsletters, and other digital content.
- Track social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, impressions) and prepare reports.
- Help coordinate with external partners and collaborators for marketing initiatives.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for marketing campaigns and social media ideas.
- Assist with any other marketing-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Strong interest in social media and digital marketing.
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, X) and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Creative mindset and ability to generate fresh ideas for content and campaigns.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) is a plus.
- Experience with video editing or graphic design is a bonus.
