Social Service Assistant Supervisor - Looking Glass Community Services

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Overnight Social Service Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the proper functioning of assigned shifts and the supervision of Social Service Assistants and of clients in the residential treatment program

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field.

Experience: Minimum two years of relevant experience; previous supervisory experience preferred.

Availability: Varies, overnight shift with some on-call responsibilities.

Certifications/License: Eligible for QMHA, valid Oregon Driver's license and insurable under agency's insurance. Ability to pass Pro ACT crisis intervention training which includes verbal and physical intervention principles. (See Looking Glass employment page for details.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Functions in the role of supervisor for assigned shifts.
2. Establishes and supervises daily structure and routine procedures.
3. Some on-call duties.
4. Ensures that other staff complete assigned duties and document accordingly.
5. Plans, conducts or organizes program activities during shift. Perform Pro-Act trained restraints in accordance to program policy; ensuring client health and safety.
6. Provides supervision of youth behavior and staff performance.
7. Facilitates group counseling and group skill-building activities.
8. Communicates pertinent information to leadership, ensures consistent approaches and structure used by other supervisors.
9. Assists Therapist in developing service plans and may write regular progress reports as a member of the Service Planning Team.
10. Assists youth in developing and working toward goals.
11. Assists or performs selection, hiring, orientation, training, developing, supervision, evaluation and disciplining of assigned staff.
12. Assists with scheduling and filling shifts.
13. Participates in evaluation of client progress on Service Plan goals.
14. Document youth's progress in program logs and case notes.
15. Acts as a positive role model.
16. Completes other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
