Position Summary:
Job Description:
The Master Social Worker provides social services to patients of the Holy Family Behavioral Health Units. The MSW provides social services and supportive counseling services to BHU patients. Additionally, coordinating treatment plans and treatment meetings, psychosocial assessments, and discharge planning. This position reports to the Director of Behavioral Health.
Responsibilities:
- Provides crisis intervention for patients in need of immediate social work assessment according to Social Work Department guidelines within 24 hours of referral, assuming a reasonable caseload size, as periodically monitored and interpreted by Supervisor.
- Provides psycho-social assessment, treatment and/or disposition, referring to outside agencies as indicated according to Social Work Department guidelines within 24 hours of the time of referral, with no more than one formal verbal counseling around noncompliance per year.
- Documents assessment and plan in medical record within 24 hours of the time of referral, with no more than one formal verbal counseling around noncompliance per year.
- Collaborates with medical, nursing, and other personnel as needed per patient with no more than one to two legitimate complaints (as determined by supervisor) per year.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Certification/Licensure:master's level license (LCSW or LICSW) preferred.
- Experience: Prefer 3 years work experience in mental health, substance abuse, developmental disability, or human services field.
