Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Software Database Engineer for a contract position in Rochester, MN
The opportunity will be eight months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

PositionSummary: The main function of a Software Database Engineer is to establish system information requirements using analysis of information in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces
• Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces
• Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant
  Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
• Provides daily supervision and direction to staff

Typical Day in the Role

• • Purpose of the Team: the job role is AI-focused, but the team is not building AI models
  Instead, they are doing discovery analysis and looking for source data
  The role is more targeted towards data engineering and analysis rather than architecture and design.
• • Key projects: This role will contribute to building a recommendation engine for the offers for the commercial sales team
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of: Meeting with business stakeholders and business requirements owners to understand those requirements
  Exploring data systems to identify certain data structures and environments

Qualifications:

• Years of Experience Required: 8-10 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
  MBA or other related advanced degree preferred degree is required to be eligible for this role.

  Average: The ideal candidate should have experience with AI tools and technologies, even though they won't be building AI models.
• Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations
  Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments
• Requires practical experience and training
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on ability to organize and document tasks to get completed
  Quality of data models and data analysis
  Ability to create the necessary data models and data structures to fulfill the business needs.
• 10 Years of Experience in Data Analysis and Data Modelling and Data transformation
• 5+ Years of experience with Data Lake experience and Data Lake architecture.
• Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
  MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
• 8-10 years experience required
• Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages
• Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring on software engineering design, development, and frameworks, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options to leads and clients
• Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations
• Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments
• Requires practical experience and training
