Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Strong Computer Science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis. - Demonstrated proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C. - Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. - Experience building large-scale software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. - Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end software systems and all points in between. Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline. - 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Experience with AWS technologies - Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers or software developers in all aspects of their engineering duties. - Experience communicating with users, software development engineering teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features and technical designs. - Strong personal interest in learning, researching, and creating new technologies with high commercial impact. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
