L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as a Software Developer. The candidate will be tasked with modernization of legacy .Net and Access systems to the latest possible versions. The Application Developer will also be tasked with the setup and configuration of new servers that house the various application based on current architecture and best practices. Remediation of applications may be required to meet new standards and best practices. This individual will be expected to provide expertise and guide development efforts in the following activities:
- Migration of existing applications, some of which include, but not limited to, .Net applications, Microsoft Access applications, and Web Services to new up to date servers.
- Understand and migrate the various IIS configurations and server settings, related to the app being migrated, to new up to date servers.
- Migration of existing SQL Server, Oracle, and Access databases to new up to date Database servers.
- Modification and modernization of source code of applications, as required.
- Modification and modernization of the source code of Web Services while considering the impact on their consumers.
- Modification and modernization of SQL code.
- Setup and configuration of new servers, IIS sites/settings, Windows task scheduler, and all configurations related to the deployment and running of applications on appropriate servers.
- Working with various teams such as, but not limited to, the App Dev, BA and EA staff.
- Reading and understanding requirement documents and making changes to systems in accordance with these requirements.
- Prepare and/or review technical documentation such as system architecture designs, schemas, solution proposals "as is' and 'to be' documents/diagrams for various systems, as appropriate.
- Following the standards of the organization in areas of application design, accessibility, security etc.
- Expected to guide in the development of applications throughout the SDLC, including the redesign of legacy applications written in older technologies.
- Develop and guide quality assurance processes including code reviews, performance testing, security scans, and adherence to industry, state, and federal standards.
- Identify and escalate technical risks and issues appropriately.
- 7 years of experience developing applications that are implemented using C# and/or VB.Net with the .NET framework(3.0 and higher) and/or the .NET Core framework.
- 4 years of experience developing .Net based Web Services using C# and/or VB.Net.
- 5 years of experience in the configuration of the Windows server, and the IIS web server application, to be able to run programs properly.
- 5 years of experience in deploying .Net applications and Web services in IIS web server.
- 4 years of experience with Windows command line tools to check connectivity to servers and other resources.
- 3 years of experience supporting Microsoft Access applications.
- 5 years of experience developing SQL in SQL Server and Oracle database systems.
- 3 years of experience working with Windows Task Scheduler to schedule applications to run at certain times with the necessary settings.
- 4 years of experience with developing applications based on provided requirement documents and experience creating documentation for existing and newly created systems.
