NYS Office for People with Development Disabilities (OPWDD) is seeking a Software Developer Expert
This position is responsible for maintaining several OPWDD Java web applications, including Division of Quality Improvement (DQIA) and SEMP. It also oversees the design, development, testing, and implementation of new applications throughout the System Development Life Cycle. Additionally, the role supports enterprise projects as needed and provides training and mentoring to junior developers.

Day to Day task include:
- Design and create scripts for databases,
- Design, develop, maintain and enhance Java applications,
- Test applications
- Create and maintain documentation
- Assist with implementation and ITSM incidents.
Requested Qualifications:
- 84 months experience programming server-side Java web applications in a multi-tier environment using JDK 1.5 or higher.
- 60 months experience writing queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers in Oracle 10g or higher.
- 48 months development experience in database design and object creation/modification of databases consisting of 20 or more tables in Oracle 10g or higher.
- 48 months programming experience with Java Server Faces.
- 36 months programming experience with Java Persistence API.
- 36 months experience with JavaScript/JQuery.
Work hours and location:
- Full time role with engagement length of 30 months
- Daily work hours: 8 hours per day, between 7:30 am and 8:30 am, ending by 5:00 pm
- Physical office location: 500 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY 12304
- Telecommuting options: 50%
