We are hiring a Software Development Engineer within Outpost’s Networking Engineering team. We are looking for a hands-on professional who is passionate about owning and continuously improving end-to-end technical processes through system solutions. Working backwards from our customer’s needs, you will be challenged to think big and support Outpost networking infrastructure by designing, building, and integrating systems that streamline operational processes.
The vision is clear and your ingenuity, experience, and customer obsession will drive the innovation cycle’s planning and execution. A successful candidate will be customer focused, passionate about using systems to solve complex problems, and able to balance delivering incremental improvements with long-term vision. A deep technical understanding and a desire to learn about complex systems is a must as you will bridge processes across many nuanced and complex systems. Solid systems development fundamentals and systems design skills will provide the foundation for your initial onboarding as you are coached and mentored by engineering and technical business experts to keep you on your desired career trajectory. Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative systems solutions to the market.
- Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
- Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Integrate industry standard AWS systems to scale operations in a fast-growing organization.
- Work in an agile and evolving environment to consistently deliver high-quality solutions.

We own the health, scalability and stability of the secured networking connectivity to customer’s Outposts, You will work with subject matter experts in enterprise compute hardware, operating systems, networking, and customer-facing APIs to deliver the best customer experience in edge cloud computing.

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- 5+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
