Software Developer - PeopleTec, Inc.

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Software Developer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

We are seeking a full-time on-site software developer interested in joining an award-winning company and working with cutting-edge missile defense modeling and simulation technologies. The selected candidate will be a member of a dynamic Huntsville-based team working on state-of-the-art system-of-systems frameworks and blending collaborative development, software engineering, and software design.

Duties Include:

• Writing software using C++, Java, or similar languages
• Creating and running unit tests
• Developing software documentation
• Creating and running automated software builds and pipeline in a Continuous Integration Continuous Development (CI/CD) environment
• Collaborating with stakeholders and Government customers
• Working within an Agile team environment including program increment planning, iteration planning, feature and story development, sprint planning, and iteration perspectives
• Participating in demonstrations for the team and program sprint reviews

Required Skills/Experience:

• Proficient in C++
• Experience with GitLab/Git for software configuration management
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
• Experience programming network connections (e.g., message generation, formatting, UDP and TCP/IP interfaces)
• Travel: None
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college in related discipline with 5 years professional experience

• OR Master’s degree with 3 years professional experience

• OR PhD with no experience

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Experience with Java and user interfaces
• Experience with Jira, or similar tool, for issue tracking and agile project management
• Experience with multi-core and multi-threaded programming
• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) missile defense systems
