Location: Fully onsite at Annapolis Junction, MD
Salary: Up to $170k, requires at least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience
End Client: Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), a sub-unified command of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for DoD
Clearance: TS/SCI
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Required Certification: DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II
Experience: C, C#, C++, SQL, or Java; Jira, Confluence, and GIT

Summary
Seeking a Software Engineer III with development experience and knowledge of operating software programs, configuring hardware devices, and developing critical procedural steps. The role requires strong knowledge in a Linux environment, developing and managing code with hands-on experience in Linux internals, Python (interpreted language), and C (compiled language). The position involves working with applications to complete tasks with underlying systems that run devices and control networks.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, implement, and manage safeguards against cyberattacks
- Identify, mitigate, and resolve vulnerabilities within existing security systems
- Work directly with penetration testers to perform penetration tests and assess potential security problems
- Develop organization-wide security measures
- Prepare performance reports and communicate system status to keep users and leadership informed
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards, attending educational workshops, and reviewing publications
- Experience with embedded system vulnerability development
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a Scrum team or agile environment
- Responsible for designing, engineering, analyzing, and developing software systems
- Design, analyze, and develop software delivery processes (including DevOps pipelines)
- Model and analyze software development and deployment processes
- Assist Federal agencies in tailoring Agile development and delivery techniques
- Engage with Government leaders to define context, problem space, and vision to determine capabilities, priorities, roadmaps, Transformation Plans, and next steps
- Develop Agile processes, plans, and architectures to support software development, analysis, and operations
- Supervise and mentor subordinate project and team staff
