Software Engineer IV

As a Software Engineer IV, reporting to the Senior Manager, you'll be responsible for developing solutions for a shared services platform. This role covers both the developer-focused aspects and the platform’s associated products that facilitate the upcycling of incoming clinical data. Your focus will be on optimizing performance, troubleshooting build pipeline failures, and implementing fixes. You will also serve as a key contributor to the team, assigning tasks, and leading technical discussions. The work is predominantly backend (95%+), with minimal frontend involvement.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of progressive software development experience
• Proficiency with AWS
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (Mocha, Selenium, Puppeteer)
• Familiarity with version control systems (preferably Git and GitHub)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Proven experience in a senior engineering role, including mentoring and technical design oversight
• Strong experience with Node.js
• Knowledge of Kotlin 1.9x (JDK 17)
• Proficient in TypeScript (4.x)
• Familiarity with Terraform (1.x)
• Experience with Temporal.io or other workflow engines
• Proficiency with SQL (MySQL 8.x)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB

What You'll Do:

• Participate in daily stand-up meetings at 9:15 AM ET
• Work within 2-week sprint cycles
• Collaborate with a team of six, including software engineers and QA professionals
• Design and develop scalable systems that adhere to industry best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistency
• Mentor and support fellow team members
• Create and document standards for the systems you develop
