Software Engineer- Team Lead - Scientific Research Corporation

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Manages software team including quarterly planning, task prioritization and leading daily standups
* Administers and supports the maintenance and development of software systems
* Briefs the customer on status of software systems to include vulnerability assessment, development progress and bug fix status
* Performs tests on all software systems including updating/creating test documentation, troubleshooting software issues and validating results
* Travels on two trips per year for installations (average one week per trip)



MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* 2 years documentation experience writing Test Plans and Test Reports
* CompTIA Security certification or higher required

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:


* Windows 10 experience including registry/group policy editing, administrative controls, services and task management
* Software development experience. Preferably experience with Powershell/batch scripting, Python and Java, but general development experience involving scripting and/or object oriented programming is sufficient
* Experience with Atlassian suite of tools including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git
* Familiarity with the Kanban or Agile development processes
* Familiarity with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
* Understanding of the Public Key Infrastructure certification process including certificate installation and Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs)
* Knowledge of Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols, specifically TLS v1.2/1.3 and the associated cipher suites. Also desirable is experience testing TCP communication with packet capture software
* Understanding of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) and experience configuring
* Supervisory experience leading a team
