Internship Term: 

 

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and December 2027.

You’ll work within a data-oriented team using AWS to develop new data systems and infrastructure from the ground up. This role involves hands-on work with a variety of data systems including PySpark (Databricks), MongoDB, and DynamoDB, utilizing cloud-native infrastructure practices to solve data-related challenges. The intern will engage in autonomous, project-based tasks focused on building new code and systems, with a focus on data processing, AI/ML, and computer vision applications.

Responsibilities:

• Data Systems Development: Build and work with diverse data systems, including AWS data tools, PySpark on Databricks, MongoDB, and DynamoDB, to support data processing and storage needs.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize IaC practices to develop and deploy data systems in a cloud-native environment, with a focus on scalability and automation.
• Autonomous Project Work: Take ownership of assigned projects, contributing directly to the development of new systems and applications.
• Data Analysis and Troubleshooting: Dive into data challenges, performing data analysis using SQL or Python, and troubleshoot data-related issues as they arise.
• AI/ML and Computer Vision: Support projects related to AI/ML and computer vision, with opportunities to work on model training, inference, and AI frameworks

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud-native data systems, particularly within the AWS ecosystem.
• Proficiency in PySpark (Databricks), SQL, and Python for data processing and analysis.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and practices.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML principles, including computer vision and AI frameworks for model training and inference.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and resolving data issues.
• Self-driven, eager to tackle new projects from scratch, with the ability to work independently on complex tasks.
• 40 hours/week, full-time.

Pay Disclosure:

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. 

 

Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
