We elevate and enhance the employee experience through smart solutions and tooling, enabling our teams to be more productive.We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager who will manage a team of engineers supporting key deliverables within Employee Documents, Workday Service Management (Core HCM, Payroll, Time & Absence), and telephony.In this role, you will:Manage a team of individual contributor engineers and less experienced engineering managersEnsure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providersEngage in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of more experienced engineersIdentify and recommend opportunities for developing product functional and technical strategies for the domains, as well as the development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps, by partnering with business product managers, lead systems architects, and more experienced engineersMake decisions and resolve issues regarding strategic products of engineering teams to meet business objectivesOversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product prioritiesInterpret and develop security, stability, and scalability within key areas of technology riskCollaborate and consult with agile teams and product managers to drive outcomesInteract directly with third party vendors and technology service providersManage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineeringMentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talentRequired Qualifications:4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education4+ years of experience in a hands-on technical role such as software engineer or similar role2+ years of Leadership experience2+ years leading or developing in Workday or similar Software as a Service Human Capital Management systems (SaaS HCM)2+ years of Agile experienceDesired Qualifications:2+ years of experience with Workday HCMExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsA BS/BA degree or higherHands-on experience working on Scrum / Agile teamKnowledge and understanding of HR technology solutions, products and requirementsStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locationsAbility to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement changeAbility to manage effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locationsJob Expectations:This is an on-site job
