As an EY IT Manager, you will partner with other STEM team members with software engineer/computer science background, as well as EY Tax professionals from across the globe to assist clients in identifying and documenting activities and expenses that qualify for various R&D and innovation-related incentives. As an EY IT Manager, you will engage in discussions on the development of discuss new innovative software applications including areas such as software architecture design, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), cybersecurity, Blockchain and Distributed Systems, telecommunication, cloud computing and virtualization, data science and big data, and other high-tech fields with a host of industry leaders. ?You will be working with a variety of clients at the forefront of technology, from entrepreneurs to public corporations, to evaluate and help prepare their R&D and innovation-related incentives. Many of these incentives, such as the Research Credit, are aimed at encouraging companies to invest in innovation and research-driven activities in the United States. To avail themselves of these incentives, our clients are required to demonstrate their involvement in qualifying activities. As an EY STEM Manager, you will assist our clients in documenting their qualifying activities by leveraging your software/computer engineering background along with your industry experience. Your responsibilities will include:? + Utilizing your broad knowledge of current technologies during client meetings to identify qualifying activities across various fields such as software development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cyber security, wireless networks, data analytics, defense, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).? + Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of accountants, attorneys, scientists and engineers from across the globe.? + Reviewing and providing comprehensive feedback on technical descriptions/project narratives prepared by more junior team members.? + Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting our clients' complex technical information such as design specifications, design documents, testing reports, etc., to extract relevant information and draw appropriate conclusions to help determine the qualifying nature of our clients' activities.? + Assisting with staffing/scheduling of EY team members on client engagements.? + Assisting our Tax teammates with IRS audits through the preparation of technical documentation and participation in discussions with IRS engineers and scientists.? ? **Skills and attributes for success** ? + Strong understanding of software engineering techniques and principles, software development, design methodologies, etc.? + Strong verbal and written communication skills?with a passion for documentation. + Creative thinking and technical writing abilities that enable you to effectively identify and describe our clients' R&D and innovation-related activities.? + Strong interpersonal and effective team collaboration skills.?? + Ability to provide practical approaches to complex situations. + Ability to apply critical thinking and to ask probative questions to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical work products.? + Ability to manage client expectations.? + Ability to multi-task while adhering to deadlines. **To qualify for the role, you must have** ? + A STEM undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering. + A Master's degrees in information systems, science, engineering, green incentives, accounting, valuation, business administration or law, **or** a Professional designation in at least one of the following fields: Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP); Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) from the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE®); Engineer in Training (EIT); Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM) Certification; Professional Software Developer (PSD) Certification; Project Management Professional (PMP)® from Project Management Institute (PMI); or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. + 4+ years of experience in U.S. research and innovation-related incentives. + 2+ years of experience in software industry. + 2+ years of experience in People Management. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently while simultaneously managing multiple projects. + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams. **What we look for** ? + Accelerate your technical capabilities and transformative leadership skills with future-focused courses and development programs.? + Broaden your horizons by working on highly integrated teams across the globe and collaborating with people of diverse backgrounds - both professionally and culturally.? + Bring out the best in yourself with continuous investment in your personal well-being and career development.? + Develop your own personal purpose and help us create a positive ripple effect on our teams, our business, clients, and society - building a better working world, together.? **What we offer** We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,600 to $188,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $123,100 to $213,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
