In this role we will look to you to:Be results-driven with strong architecture and engineering skills, and expertise in application architecture, Cloud-native design patterns, APIs, and Event-driven architecture.Be a person of high integrity, who believes in challenging the status quo when needed, while always first seeking to understand and be curious.Define solution architectures that meet business requirements and performance standards.Let us help you accelerate your career as we grow our team and transform our business!What Will You Do?Architecture responsibility within a major segment of Technology Architecture in support of the Personal Insurance business unitLeads technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutionsHands-on prototyping of new technology solutionsPartner with Software Engineering to execute proof of technologiesProvides architecture direction for engineers in support of a technical patternDisplays strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology modernizationDrives continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debtCreate a partnership with Software EngineeringLooks for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterpriseParticipates in defining target state technology architecture and roadmapsEnsures alignment of IT initiatives with the target stateBuilds strong partnership with engineering to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology directionContinuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the architecturePerform other duties as assigned.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor’s in technology related field or equivalent with 4+ years of technology engineering and/or architecture experienceOrganizational experience in an agile operating modelEstablished work in proof of concepts and technologyStrong proven Software Engineering experienceSupports technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goalsInsurance technology experience desiredStrong grasp of value creation and business capability modelsInnovation and Continuous ImprovementMust be passionate about technology transformationsHas hands on experience in the last 3 yearsExecuted technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API StrategyCurrent experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOpsCloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on CloudGood understanding of securityExperienced with large scale technology platformsBusiness Acumen and Competencies:• Ability to establish strategic technology direction and architecture vision in alignment with business goals.• Proven ability to influence senior leadership and other stakeholders.• Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Resilience and positive attitude in the face of challenges.• Ability to present technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.• Strong teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.What is a Must Have?Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.Five years of experience in engineering software or analytic applications within a line of business areaWhat Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members – including spouses, domestic partners, and children – are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum
