Scope
- Lead and design technology solutions for new Ethernet initiative that are innovative, cost effective, high quality, and enable timely delivery to the business customer.
- Acts as the subject matter expert for the program and serves as the end to end system architecture authority within that scope. Responsible for solution design, impact assessment based on business requirement.
- Work with component or system teams and come up with solution design, system roles and responsibilities for a particular project, system interaction diagrams, and system requirements.
- Display ability to quickly understand newer systems, functions. Ability to use open source products to come up with prototyping as required. Develop proof of concepts as needed to check feasibility of adopting a solution.
- Defines highly complex technology-based business solutions. Provides thought leadership regarding system design, architecture, and integration. Mentors and leads project teams in the appropriate use of technology.
- Reviews and approves high risk design decisions prior to implementation.
- Leads system design activities or reviews system designs to ensure that applications solutions will exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.
- Leads technology and product general assessments, detailed evaluations, and final selections. Educates and provides technical advice to management.
- Leads system performance diagnosis and scalability assessment activities. Coordinates and manages activities of multiple hardware and software vendors on large project engagement.
- Represents Company in technology discussions with vendors.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience as an enterprise or solutions architect covering service-oriented architecture, web applications architecture and solutions architecture roles. This experience should include:
- Defining hardware architectures
- Defining software architectures
- Using application design patterns
- Demonstrating ability to create systems architecture and solution design
- Investigating and resolving system-wide technical problems
- Evaluating COTS products
- Designing new features to meet new business requirements
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience using each of the following:
- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Web applications architecture
- Software technologies (.NET, J2EE)
- Enterprise Architecture tools (Visio, IBM Rational Software Architect, etc.)
- Database architecture
- Collaboration tools
- Workflow and business process management
- Experience working with telecommunications industry with BSS/OSS background and web based technology development
- Needs a Solutions Architect with a Telecom BSS/OSS background who can turn requirements in very detailed technical designs
