Responsibilities
Wine Selection: Curate and manage an extensive wine list, ensuring a diverse and refined selection.
Customer Engagement: Guide guests in selecting wines that best complement their meal and enhance their dining experience.
Staff Training: Educate and train staff on wine offerings, including detailed tasting notes and pairing suggestions.
Wine Service: Oversee wine service during meal courses, ensuring proper presentation and satisfaction.
Inventory Management: Monitor wine stock levels and assist in inventory orders to maintain a well-stocked cellar.
Event Collaboration: Collaborate with the events team to organize wine tastings, pairings, and themed events.
Requirements
Certification: Must hold a Certified Sommelier credential from a recognized institution.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a sommelier or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of wines, including regions, vintages, and pairings.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage guests and provide a memorable experience.
Customer Service: Passionate about delivering a high level of service and enhancing the dining experience.
Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift wine crates.
Flexibility: Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
