SOURCE WATER PROTECTION SPECIALIST
North Platte Natural Resources District
The North Platte Natural Resources District (NPNRD) located in Scottsbluff, through partnership with the South Platte Natural Resources District (SPNRD) located in Sidney and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), is accepting applications for a Source Water Protection Specialist
Primary duties include working with producers, agri-business dealers, community leaders, water operators and community residents to provide information, education and technical assistance as it relates to water quantity and quality best management practices, primarily in source water protection areas, developing field inventories, conservation plans and program agreements, and coordinating, presenting or participating in public outreach meetings, events or trainings
Applicant must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be efficient with Microsoft Office products
A Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science or a Related field is preferred, but a minimum of 5 years' works experience in one or more of these areas is required
Other requirements include a valid Nebraska driver license, the ability to achieve a Natural Resources Ground Water Technician License and Chemigation Applicator License, the ability to lift at least 25 pounds and ability to operate tools, machinery and equipment
This job will require travel between the NPNRD, which covers Scottsbluff, Morrill, Garden, Banner and part of Sioux County, and the SPNRD, which covers Deuel, Kimball and Cheyenne County
The primary office location for this position will be Bridgeport, Nebraska
Salary will be based on experience
