Panasonic is looking for interns to join our Supply Chain team. The Sourcing Analyst Intern will perform strategic sourcing work to manage risk and optimize the value and resilience of materials and services sourcing including establishing supplier relationships management processes and continuous improvement goals and programs. The position is a highly interactive position working closely with local suppliers and internal and external Japanese based suppliers. The interns hired for this position should expect to learn all facets of supply chain management and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge. Responsibilities:Internship Details:
The program will be a fulltime paid summer internship working for Panasonic at the Gigafactory
The program will be 12 weeks in length, and is planned to occur between Monday, May 19th and Friday, August 8th.This date range is subject to change
Must be able to attend the entirety of the internship

Minimum 3.2 GPA
Must have completed a minimum of 2 years at an accredited university
What You'll Do:
The Sourcing Analyst Intern performs strategic sourcing work to manage risk and optimize the value and resilience of materials and services sourcing including establishing supplier relationships management processes and continuous improvement goals and programs. The position is a highly interactive position working closely with local suppliers and internal and external Japanese based suppliers.
- Conduct analysis in Excel, Power BI, or sequel querying tools to support procurement activities including spend analytics, budget analysis, and bid analysis
- Leverage spend analytics to identify consolidation opportunities; understand total cost of ownership and cost drivers, analyze product and service specifications to identify rationalization opportunities; analyze demand and spend to identify patterns and reduction opportunities
- Analyze market intelligence to build business cases and should cost models to identify and quantify improvement opportunities for both sourcing and non- sourcing – e.g., demand management, process improvements, insource vs. outsource, etc.
- Develop sourcing strategies based on baseline data, market dynamics and business requirements
- Manage sourcing projects from inception to completion, including development of eRFx and negotiation strategy utilizing best practice sourcing methodology to deliver exceptional total cost value and supply assurance
- Manage the planning and launch of RFx events, executing eAuctions as appropriate, in eSourcing tool
- Build and maintain RFx templates in eSourcing tool
- Provide internal and external user support during RFx process, including coordinating NDAs, supplier training and responses to supplier questions
- Gather requirements and specifications from business and category experts to ensure that proposed solutions meet business needs
- Assess supplier capabilities and identify new sources of supply
- Analyze complex bidding and award scenarios leveraging multi bid analysis model to facilitate fact-based supplier selection
- Supports negotiation strategy development and execution. Develop transition plan to new supplier and support implementation
- Review contract terms and work with suppliers, stakeholders, and PNA departments such as Risk Management and Legal to ensure PNA’s terms and conditions are accurately met
- Manage supplier onboarding process and contract management
- Work with category managers, suppliers, and key stakeholders post projects to manage supplier performance and identify continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop, produce, and deliver metrics to all levels of management, thereby ensuring SLAs and/or KPIs are met
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Enforce compliance to procurement policies and work to increase adoption
- Track and properly allocate procurement savings and costs to divisional budgets

What You'll Bring:
Education:
- Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a Bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain, Business Management, STEM Degree, or any other related discipline
- Preferred: Business Operations / Supply Chain

- Must be currently enrolled as a fulltime student at an accredited four-year college or university.
- GPA of 3.2 or higher.

- Familiarity with basic lithium-ion battery chemistry and materials.
- Good understanding of basic manufacturing principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write and communicate information clearly and concisely.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner.
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

- Previous coursework supply chain management
- A desire to create a sustainable future through energy storage, renewable energy, and electric vehicles.
