Job Summary



As the Sous Chef, you will oversee the daily operations of a medium-sized dining hall within a higher education setting. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, your role is crucial in maintaining efficient culinary operations. You will assist with kitchen management, food preparation, and menu development.





Responsibilities:






+ Manage kitchen operations and budget alongside the Executive Chef.


+ Assist in planning and executing menus.


+ Oversee catering events.


+ Implement culinary programs with the marketing and culinary team.






Qualifications:






+ Culinary Arts degree or equivalent experience preferred.


+ Experience in high-volume food service and kitchen management.


+ Familiarity with batch cooking and institutional operations.


+ Strong knowledge of food trends, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.


+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet use.


+ Participation in client satisfaction activities.


+ ServSafe certification is a plus.
