Job Summary:
The Spa Director is responsible overseeing the day to day operations of upscale spa and salon within a health and fitness environment to ensure delivery of superior customer service, achievement of high employee and member satisfaction and performance relative to club objectives
Summary Of Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for development and execution of the overall vision and implementation of strategic plan, to include marketing initiatives, staffing and staff training for spa & salon operations
Responsible for all spa and salon retail product, maintains inventory of supplies, equipment, and or products.
Responsible for developing and meeting the budget and financial goals of the Spa
Ensures compliance with all state licensing and health requirements
Instills ownership and a sense of accountability in all staff through training, education and goal setting, conducts regular staff meetings and training workshops
Supervises and follows up on guest requests and comments
Ensures that the Spa is successfully positioned within the marketplace by understanding operations of all [applicable] competitors
Works to creates and manage a marketing strategy that attracts members, conference groups and residents
Ensures the successful integration of the Spa to the fitness facility
Attract and Retain members by consistently providing excellent customer service
Approachable management style which includes supervising and managing staff members, planning, assigning and direct work/projects, appraising performance, and annual individual/team goals
Instills ownership and a sense of accountability in all staff through training, education and goal setting, conducts regular staff meetings and training workshops
Place high emphasis on the importance of the social element. This includes participation in planning and execution of club events as needed, such as Parents Night Out, Jazz By The Pool and Casino Night.
Participate in the Manager on Duty System and ensures appropriate supervisory coverage in the Spa at all times via Manager on Duty (MOD) system.
Perform additional duties as assigned
Knowledge/Experience Required:
Two Year College degree in business or relevant degree
Minimum of 3 years of day spa management experience
Practical knowledge of professional spa operations & occupancy planning.
Knowledge & understanding of Health Department and State licensing codes
Ability to develop and maintain positive member relationships and provide outstanding customer service
Ability to adapt to back and front of the house operations as required
Strong attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking skills
Initiative, self-motivation, high degree of responsibility & team player.
Ability to effectively delegate
Strong team building skills including ability to lead, train, cooperate and contribute as part of a team
Committed to learning, personal growth, and continual process improvement
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint), Outlook and Spa Computer Systems
Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through Company training
Knowledge/Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field

Physical Activity
This position requires daily standing, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and kneeling. Sitting for some periods of time. Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication.
Physical Requirement
Sedentary work involving sitting some of the time. Walking and standing are required daily. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. In addition, may involve physical movement which includes activities related to membership events and programs.
Visual Requirement
This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing computer monitors and extensive reading.
Working Conditions
It involves typical office or administrative work, member outdoor activity and standing at the Spa Front Desk.
