Our space systems team is looking for a lead engineer to oversee the design, implementation, integration, and testing of our hardware-in-the-loop simulation tools. The ideal candidate possesses a background that combines expertise in hardware and software design, along with system integration experience, to develop simulator solutions tailored for space system development and operations. This position is located on-site at the GA-EMS facility in Englewood, CO.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Lead HWIL development across programs to ensure satellite simulation tools and development plans meet program requirements.
+ Establish collaborative work relationships with peers supporting HWIL development at other sites to increase reuse and interoperability of tools across SV product lines.
+ Responsible for development and implementation of hardware and software satellite simulation tools through all stages of design integration, test and operations.
+ Develop requirements for hardware and software simulation and test tools.
+ Develop engineering drawings to capture test hardware simulator designs and configurations.
+ Lead effort to complete integration and test of spacecraft simulation tools, coordinating across manufacturing and test engineering departments to accomplish test objectives.
+ Responsible for delivery and training of spacecraft simulation tools to customer or payload provider organizations.

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
+ Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into design solutions.
+ Prior space domain experience which may include space vehicles or satellite ground systems.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance is required
+ Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
+ Able to work extended or off-nominal hours to support pre-scheduled integration and test events.
+ Able to travel to other GA-EMS locations or customer sites, as required. Typically, <10%.
