The employee should demonstrate the philosophy and values of the agency, while giving leadership and innovation in the education field. A Bachelors Degree in Special Education and a Missouri state teacher certification in Special Education (K-12) are required to perform this job. Masters Degree acquisition as regulated by the state of Missouri is expected to fulfill requirements for continued teacher certification. A Class E drivers license and med certification are required when training is available. In addition, the employee will participate in required staff development as directed.
Pediatric and adolescent students, parents, and families of the agency will be the population served by this position. Interpersonal skills will require oral and written communication skills to communicate with families and school districts. Four quarterly reports, development of educational and behavioral present levels of performance and goals on students Individualized Education Plans, and monitoring of weekly data collection will be the responsibility of the Special Education Program Coordinator.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work will be performed inside the agency, in a temperature-controlled environment. Work may also be performed in the form of community outings with the students. The knowledge and use of universal precautions is expected as this position may be exposed to air-borne particles or bodily fluids while working with the students.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Special Education Program Coordinator positions report directly to the agency Education Director. Classroom supervisors and Behavior Assistants will report directly to this position.
