The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is in need of two Building Substitute (1 High School, and 1 Intermediate) for the 2024-2025 school year at the location listed above. Applicants must be certified teachers with a current DPI license or hold a Substitute Permit through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
The rate of pay is: $194.25 per full day of assignments

The ideal candidate will change assignments based on the needs of the Special Education Department. Expected to travel between 2 Intermediate Schools (Frank Lloyd Wright, West Milwaukee) or 3 High Schools (Nathan Hale, Central, and Dottke) to fulfill short and long-term assignments.

Position Requirements:
- Implement existing lesson plans in a manner that ensures the integrity of academic time and motivates students to learn and participate
- Instruct students regarding a variety of classroom topics and courses of instruction
- Follow Lesson plans as required by school and WAWM district policy
- Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students in accordance with lesson plans
- Address the various learning styles of students accordingly
- Model correct use of spoken and written English language
- Demonstrate professional practices in teaching Classroom Management
- Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with WAWM policy, state, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure adequate supervision of students and the classroom environment to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all students
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and school property
- Remain in the classroom and monitor students at all times
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to school principal or school personnel immediately
- May supervise students in out-of-class settings (e.g., assemblies, lunchroom, schoolyard)
- Experience with urban students in a technology-rich, personalized environment is preferred.
