Position Title-Special Education Teacher
Wages-Based on Experience and Education.
Essential Functions
- Engage students by planning, preparing, and implementing evidence based and coherent instruction.
- Assess student's social emotional and academic progress on a regular basis.
- Plan, write, and implement a therapeutic Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for assigned students.
- Maintain the classroom environment by using strategies that support healing, recovery and resist re-traumatization.
- Work with parents, staff, guardians, and other stakeholders to assess and modify services to meet student needs.
Qualifications
- Illinois LBS1 approved for Special Education. An out of state equivalent with the goal of securing Illinois Licensure required for the position will also be considered.
- No history of child abuse or neglect
