Special Education Teacher - Buxmont Academy

Buxmont Academy, a Pennsylvania licensed private academic school, is seeking a full-time special education teacher for their Tatamy Creek campus. Primary responsibilities for the special education teacher position include providing 1-on-1 and small group tutoring to students grades 7-12, creating and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEP), and conducting IEP meetings.

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or higher level of education, and either PA special education certification or the ability to obtain certification. We welcome qualified candidates who are interested in becoming teachers. We also welcome retired teachers who miss being in the classroom!

Required Skills/Abilities for the special education teacher role:

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high stress situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The capacity to work effectively both independently and with a team.
• Proficient computer skills.
