Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our educational team in Westminster, MA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This position involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), working collaboratively with colleagues, and creating an inclusive classroom environment that fosters student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address the specific needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with a variety of disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and other special needs.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
- Utilize a range of teaching methods and strategies to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
- Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies and goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering professional insights and recommendations to support student development and achievement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
- Stay informed about current best practices, research, and legal requirements in special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license with certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with special needs in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
