Special Education Teacher - TEEMA

TEEMA is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teachers to join our team for the 2024/2025 school year in Kent, Washington. The ideal candidate will hold a valid State of Washington teaching license and possess a special education teaching endorsement. This position provides an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Pay is $55/hr. Independent contractors are also eligible for this position at a higher rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement effective and differentiated instructional strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.

• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social-emotional growth.

• Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.

• Provide support and accommodations to help students succeed in the general education curriculum.

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and achievements.

Qualifications:

• Valid State of Washington teaching license.

• Special education teaching endorsement.

• Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and best practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.

• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with disabilities.
