Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver innovative, interactive content for adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on independent living and social skill development.
- Integrate academics, enrichment, and experiential learning to create a well-rounded, engaging experience.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and encourages community participation.
- Adapt activities and teaching methods to accommodate a range of learning styles and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with other professionals and volunteers to continuously improve program quality and participant engagement.
- Proven experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in an educational, programmatic, or therapeutic setting.
- Expertise in designing fun, engaging, and educational activities that promote independent living skills.
- Strong ability to adapt content and approach to suit diverse learning styles and developmental needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with a diverse community, including other professionals, families, and community members.
- Demonstrated passion for promoting social connections and independence among adults with developmental disabilities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Background in teaching independent living skills or providing life skills coaching.
- Training in safety protocols, health and wellness for adults with developmental disabilities, or adaptive physical education.
