Job Summary
Supervises, coordinates and organizes the day to day operations of staff within the Special Event Parking division. Assesses, develops and maintains an ongoing training program for department staff to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws.
Responsibilities
1. Supervises all personnel in assigned area by overseeing the day to day field operations for that area. Responsible for hiring, promoting, evaluating, disciplinary action and termination of subordinate staff. Acts as a liaison between field personnel and upper management.
2. Prepares weekly or semester work schedules and assignments dependent upon area of assignment. Insures that all positions under assignment are filled at all times.
3. Tracks KRONOS payroll records on a daily basis.
4. Oversees maintenance and repair on all equipment used within the division of assignment.
5. Purchases supplies, assists in budget preparation and recommends capital equipment purchases for assigned area.
6. Controls day-to-day expenditures by preparing requisitions, campus orders, limited purchase orders and limited purchase checks and reconciles all assigned division accounts.
7. Insures the assistant supervisor’s duties and responsibilities are being completed.
8. Oversees the development and implementation of a continued training program for assigned division.
PROBLEM SOLVING
Authority to hire or terminate part-time employees. Makes disciplinary and hiring recommendations to respective manager on full time employees. Make recommendations on budget and expenditures for assigned area. Provide continuous training to maintain quality skills and service for assigned area. All decisions are based on parking services policy and operational bulletins, University policy and procedures, federal and state laws, codes and regulations as they apply to area of assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years parking services or related experience or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education); two years supervisory experience; a knowledge of Federal and/or state and local laws as they pertain to the area of assignment; a valid Utah driver’s license and proof of insurability required. Basic computer skills and demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills also required.
Dependent upon area of assignment, a valid Utah class B Commercial Driver’s License ( CDL ) with passenger and airbrake endorsement may be required upon hire or within six months of hire and mandatory submission to a DOT Drug Alcohol Test may be required.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
Preference will be given to individuals with prior parking and transportation knowledge and experience.
