Specialist II
Community Supports for Independence
Be part of a new program that provides outreach and support to adults in Western Massachusetts with autism or other intellectual disabilities who are living independently!
Our Specialists work directly with adults in their own residences and in local communities as well as coordinate services to help support success. Support is focused on goals identified by the individual and their team including household management, executive functioning, social/recreational, health care management, and other areas of life.
Full-time (40 hours/week) in cities and towns within Hampshire and Franklin Counties. Job responsibilities include providing services to assigned caseload, in the areas of direct support to documentation of goal progress and individual needs, rotating on-call schedule and service coordination.
Part-time Specialist II positions are also available – please indicate preference.
Your supports are essential to helping to improve skills, independence, focus, adaptability and commitment in:
- Living more independently.
- Handling routines, such as grocery shopping, meal preparation.
- Care of living space.
- Financial decision making.
- Coordination of health care & health care services.
- Medication Management.
- Accessing and Connecting the individual within local community through recreation and making friends.
- Day to day problem solving.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Broad knowledge of a discipline involving the use of a broad theoretical knowledge equal to a complete 4 year college education.
- Knowledge of autism and treatments.
- Over 3 years direct experience working with children/adults with developmental disabilities.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Requires valid driver's license and reliable transportation/vehicle.
