About the Job
The National Center for Families Learning, a private nonprofit organization located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Specialist, Research & Evaluation to support NCFL in research and evaluation design and implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research/Evaluation Design:
- Assist in the design of research/evaluation components for NCFL projects
- Assist with the submission of materials to Institutional Review Boards as needed
- Assist in the selection of appropriate measures to be used for research and evaluation
- Assist in the development of data collection protocols and instruments
- Assist in research/evaluation design and components for NCFL funding proposals
Research/Evaluation Implementation
- Provide orientation to internal project staff on research/evaluation components and procedures
- Supervise data collection as appropriate
- Administer identified outcome assessments
- Conduct and oversee analyses for specific projects
- Provide interpretation for research/evaluation results
- Provide training to internal staff on data collection, data entry and assessment administration as needed
Information Management
- Organize research/evaluation information and data
- Supervise data entry as appropriate
- Maintain NCFL's data collection platform, manage data requests, and coordinate with other platform administrators
- Design and conduct literature searches utilizing appropriate databases
- Conduct reviews and summaries of literature and provide reports as needed
Research Dissemination
- Produce research/evaluation reports targeted to identified audiences
- Contribute to research articles as requested
- Present research/evaluation results to internal and external audiences
- Conduct workshops or training on research and evaluation as requested

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in psychology, sociology, educational research, mathematics or related field and relevant prior work experience
- Qualifications require knowledge and experience with various types of research and evaluation such as experimental, correlational, and qualitative; experience with standard software packages such as SPSS, SAS, or others; administration of psychological and educational assessments; strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills; excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills
- An unwavering belief that all families want the best for their children and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity
- Proven track record of ambitious results in previous roles
- Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
- Skilled at collaborative action planning and execution
- Travel approximately 30% of time including occasional evenings and weekends
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Ability to travel.
Salary range $50,000-$65,000
