Job Summary
The Sanitation Training Specialist ensures that employees are being onboarded, trained, and making appropriate progress to be successful in their position. This will include providing coaching and guidance to workers on the Sanitation team.
Essential Position Functions
• Instruct and train employees on the most efficient way to perform and follow procedures in the Sanitation areas.
• Works with new hired and new temporary assignment sanitation employees to facilitate onboarding ensuring employees are educated on the sanitation process, procedures, workplace safety and food safety practices in addition to expectations of their specific role.
• Partners with leadership and key departments to establish and document training protocols that continue to develop and support skills development.
• Assists plant leadership in maintaining ongoing workplace and food safety training, developing training protocols, and other required compliance training in the Learning Management System.
• Maintains and updates training documents including job aids, presentations, and work aids.
• Coaches employees on successful day-to-day functional operations supporting safety, quality, and productivity.
• Provides oversight for compliance training completed through the Learning Management System for the facility, documents training related activities to ensure accurate record keeping.
Education and Experience
High school diploma is required, and 2-5 years Food Manufacturing experience is preferred with knowledge of sanitation in a wet environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• English/Spanish bilingual is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Must be organized and have excellent attention to detail.
• Must possess and demonstrate the ability prioritize multiple tasks and work under minimal supervision.
• Ability to build strong relationship with peers and cross-functionally with partners outside immediate work group.
• Lock out Tag out and Forklift authorized training/certification preferred, or ability to acquire.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
• Refrigerated food manufacturing plant.
• Environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from 25°F to 110°F.
• Repetitive lifting, kneeling, and bending with packages in excess of 40 lbs may be periodically required in the training process.
• Requires walking and standing for long periods of time while facilitating training.
• Frequent exposure to hazardous material and waste.
• Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
