Position: Business Development Manager
Type: Full-Time
Your Role: As the Business Development Manager, you will be a key player in ensuring the company runs smoothly, developing sales, building customer relationships, assisting in marketing/email promotion, and managing shipping logistics. Your main responsibilities will be the following:
- Cultivating and nurturing relationships with key industry players, including biotech partners, research institutions, and biopharma researchers around NJ, PA, & NY.
- Lead mining, mass email sending, cold calling, local vendor shows/conference attending, and pitch sales to achieve sales targets/goals.
- Generating sales reports, recording lead/prospect/contact/customer info in Salesforce
- Traveling to visit customers, make and present pitch decks, and online meetings with customers.
- Manage general administration tasks (SAMs registration, onsite filing, certificate of formation renewal, communication with bank and insurance provider, etc).
- Track quotes, meetings, inquiries, orders, payments, shipping, etc. to ensure everything is updated in a timely manner.
- Complete monthly business reports, monthly finance statements, weekly Salesforce updates, etc.
- Ensure daily operations are running smoothly and provide ideas for areas of improvement.
- Provide creative ideas for social media posts and work closely with the international marketing team for approvals/shipments.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to share order information, ensure import/export permits are active, schedule Biocair, FedEx, or other couriers’ shipments, etc.
- Handle lentiviral vector, Adeno-associated viral vector, plasmids, mRNA, LNP, antibody, and cells for shipments at the Cranbury, NJ site that arrive from our China headquarters. Also, handle all domestic shipments to USA customers (experience in working with dry ice preferred).
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies, marketing materials, and freezer samples.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, life sciences, or a related field
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organization skills
- Proven track record in sales and marketing, with at least one year of experience in the biotechnology or cell and gene therapy sector
- Able to lift boxes up to 50lbs
