Position Overview
The Speech Language Pathologist plays a pivotal role in supporting students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This position involves assessing and evaluating students, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with educators and parents to enhance student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students referred for services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student success
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and document services provided
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and progress
- Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution preferred
- Valid California Credential with an authorization to provide services in Language, Speech and Hearing or be eligible to apply for a Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential
- Previous experience working with children in a school setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
