We are looking for Speech Language Pathologists (SLP’s) to join our growing team in San Antonio, TX. Our Speech Language Pathologists play a vital role in providing top-notch speech and language therapy services to students ranging from preschool through high school. The SLP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support students' communication needs, thereby facilitating their full participation in educational programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Employ a variety of diagnostic tools and practices to accurately identify student needs.
Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development: Develop, implement, and adjust IEPs or 504 Plans for students with speech and language impairments, ensuring that goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.
Therapy and Intervention: Provide direct therapy in school settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and other related disorders. Engage students in activities and exercises designed to mitigate their impairments.
Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists) to implement comprehensive support strategies for students. Provide guidance and training to school staff and families to support speech and language development.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.
Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research, tools, and techniques in the field of speech-language pathology. Participate in professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge to practice.
Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as needed to support student growth and development.
Stay up-to-date with federal and state regulations regarding special education and assessment practices.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and team members to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on goals and strategies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports.
Flexible Part-Time, Full-Time, On-site, and Hybrid opportunities available.
Caseload age range between Pre-K to 12th grade.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.
Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
CF’s are welcomed; Supervisor can be provided.
Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws.
Experience working with individuals with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
Familiarity of Special Education principles and practices.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff as well parents of students.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations as needed.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in music therapy and special education.
Bilingual - Spanish language skills are highly valued.
